The chief executive of Windmill George Rundogo yesterday appeared in court for allegedly raping a friend’s 11-year-old daughter several times last year.

He appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje charged with rape and was remanded in custody to April 3.

Prosecuting, Mr Pardon Dziva alleged that Rundogo (55) raped the friend’s daughter several times last year and would give her some sweets afterwards to pacify her.

The girl told her mother but she did not report the assaults to the police. The girl then told her teacher at school who then took the child to the social welfare office where she was interviewed and confirmed the assaults.

The social welfare office then advised the police and they moved her to a place of safety pending investigations. The mother of the girl was not cooperating after the discovery but a medical examination confirmed sexual assault.
