Observers worry that farms have been left derelict and that infrastructure is suffering.

Zimbabwe’s tobacco selling season has begun. The number of tobacco farmers has steadily increased over the years. Zimbabwe produced and sold nearly 200 million kilogrammes of tobacco last year worth nearly $600m. Tobacco is the country’s second-biggest export earner.

But there are complaints some of the farms seized during land reforms are not being fully utilised, hindering production.

Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports from Harare.
