The ZANU PF-led government has moved to implement some of the sweeping changes introduced by the enactment of the controversial Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Act.

Among the changes already underway is the appointment and promotion of 14 judges under the amended provisions, which alter the process and tenure for judicial appointments.

The government has also commenced the transfer of key electoral functions from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to the Registrar-General’s Office.
