Veteran MDC-T politician Roy Bennett and his wife Heather have been tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Canada today.
Co-vice president Nelson Chamisa said on twitter; “I’m devastated as I have just received tragic news about Roy Bennet and wife’s involvement in a helicopter crash while in Canada.”
Another opposition politician and former education minister David Coltart added; “I have just confirmed from three separate reliable sources that Roy and Heather Bennett have been tragically killed in a helicopter accident in North America.
Politician Tendai Biti has said Bennet’s death is a blow to the struggle for democracy.

I’ve never been devastated by someone’s death like this. Oh, Bennett! What is life? What is death? Why do we live and what is the purpose of our presence on this big ball called earth? Should we believe that there is One who programs our coming in and going away? Simple but tough questions. I think it is better to believe because if you decide not to and meet Him on that irreversible eternal migration… no apology will be listened to. If you believe and he is not there, you lose nothing. Guys, when someone famous dies it hits me hard philosophically for about two or so days.RIP my man RB.
This is sad news. To go through what Roy did and then lose his life like this. Senseless. I hope one day that Chinamasa ends up in Chikurubi.
