FBC Holdings yesterday donated 10 000 rapid diagnostic test kits to President Mnangagwa at State House.

FBC chairperson, Mr Herbert Nkala, said 5 000 kits would go to the Office of the President and Cabinet, 3 000 to PSMI, while 1 000 apiece will go to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital and Bulawayo City Council.

“We believe the best way to defeat this pandemic is by first understanding the extend of the problem and that can only be done through testing of our people.

“As FBC, we accordingly imported 10 000 rapid diagnostic test kits, which we are proud to donate today,” said Mr Nkala.

“It is our belief that the test kits will assist in detection of people exposed to the virus leading to the implementation of the necessary health measures to contain transmission of the same.

“As a responsible corporate citizen our primary concern remains the health and well-being of the nation. As such, we are here to affirm our commitment towards the spread of Covid-19 in our country. We have seen it fit to play a small part towards responding to this national disaster.

FBC paid tribute to President Mnangagwa for his role in guiding the nation towards limiting the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Our appreciation also goes to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, all frontline health caregivers and everyone who is playing a key role in the fight to stop the spread of Covid-19,” said Mr Nkala.
