Over 200 residents of Kuwadzana, Harare, got an early Christmas present after Daniye Dental Clinic, which operates in the area, partnered Domboshava Medclinic to offer free health services over the weekend.

Some of the services offered included health awareness and screening of dental diseases, blood pressure checks, health education, weight checks, Jadelle insertions and other various family planning methods.

The residents applauded the organisers and implored them to offer the services regularly.

All age groups were served on the day.

Mr Denis Kalifasi (49) was happy with the service.

“I am 49 years now, this is my first time to undergo blood pressure and dental checks. Today, l have learnt that it is critical to have regular checks,” he said.

Reverend Promise Fambisai of Kuwadzana said: “I appreciate these health promotions. They will go a long way in promoting good health habits among the residents. Thumbs up to organisers.”

Event director, Dr Farayi Mayana, said they were merely appreciating the community for the support that the company gets.

Further, he said their organisations were complementing Government efforts of ensuring easy access to all citizens.

“Today in Kuwadzana, 200 people went for dental checks, 150 did blood pressure checks and 50 did jadelle insertions, removal and other family planning methods.

“The whole of next weekend, similar health promotions will be at Domboshava Medclinic near Mungate Village, Domboshava. Residents of the area and nearby areas must diarise that because prevention is better than cure,” he said.

Dr Moyana also thanked Celebration Health, Population Services Zimbabwe and various stakeholders who contributed towards the event.
