AT least 40 heads of state are scheduled to attend President Robert Mugabe’s inauguration at the National Sports stadium in Harare tomorrow

In an interview yesterday, the acting governor of Harare metropolitan province Alfred Tome said preparations were at an advanced stage.

“It’s a huge event which we expect to be graced by at least 40 heads of state or their representatives,” said Tome.

“Harare will be provided with 30 buses while all the other provinces will have 10 buses each for those who want to attend the inauguration.” He said people were expected to start arriving at the stadium by 6am and be seated by 9.30 am.

The event is billed to be as big as Mugabe’s inauguration as Prime Minister in 1980. He said a number of local musicians, including Alick Macheso and Cde Chinx, complemented by foreign stars, including South African group Mafikizolo.

Zambian outfit Amayenge would also perform at the event. Last night government declared tomorrow a public holiday.

“40 heads of state attending”…Probably 4 heads of state, and 36 representatives. Because the real heads of state are to embarrassed to include themselves.

I have got the same feeling that few head of states will not attend the “robbery’s party” because some of these head of state knows well that the election were rigged. South Africa’s Jacob Zuma will not attend. The big question is why? Was he not the facilitator who like mbeki failed to free the the people of Zimbabwe from the jaws of the old crocodile called robert mugabe. Is he not proud to share the stage with his friend mugabe or he is not sure werther he succeded in his mission to restore order in zim. President Jacob zuma believed that it’s mission accomplished with zim, but the majority of zimbabweans knows the journey to free themselves has jus begun. With or without the help of Sadc, zim will be free one day!

ditto…I love it. Truth is they might not be able to fill 30 buses. Even with threats and distribution of goodies.

Oh, those buses will be filled. The methods of filling them are another subject of debate.

Let us wait and see how full the stadium is. Because of the rigging and voters roll issues, no-one really knows how much support Mugabe has, not even the old man himself.
A full stadium will show he has support; an empty stadium will show that he won the presidency by rigging.

I do not think there is any big deal, the man is already in the evening and it is only better he is given a good send off. I am mainly going to be interested in his inogural speech. The man has been a pain to the rest of us, but you are talking about democracy, because you may not just drag him out of STATE HOUSE, it is again illigal. Let nature play its part, and it will definitely do so. Soon Zimbabwe will be at it highest peak once he goes.

I do not think there is need to be fussy about it. I personally it is fine if all those turn out. The man (MUGABE) must be given a very good send off, for I am positive he may not make it in the next round of elections coming up in five years time. My only fear is, I hope those to take over will be able to stand the preasure the man has been subjected to. Zimbabwe will soon be vibrant again. These could be some of lessons that we have to learn as a country and as African continent in general.

Even baboons don’t count like that!! We know that as a former primary headmaster you are barely literate, but I am sure you should not be willfully dishonest in singing for your supper elderly zanoid Alfred Tome? There were no more than five serving head of state and even if you factor in retired dictators, they don’t even add up to ten??? Where do you think you can get 40 head of state to attend such a farcical and stolen inauguration??
