MATABELELAND South Province has heeded the Government’s call and embarked on the massive rebranding exercise which seeks to improve the image of the province to ensure it becomes attractive to investors.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa initiated the rebranding of the country to improve its image, so that Zimbabwe regains a status as an investment destination of choice and improve ease of doing business.

Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs, Cde Abednico Ncube said they have already completed the rebranding exercise at district and provincial level.

“We have a number of tasks set up for us as a province and we have completed the rebranding exercise. We are very happy with this initiative because it will market our country and attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). We now have a functional website, a provincial video and a provincial information pack/brochure which shows all our provincial brands, offering unique attributes requiring highlighting. This initiative will benefit our mining, agricultural and livestock sectors. Vast deposits of gold are available in Gwanda, Matobo, Umzingwane and Mangwe and small scale miners are doing very well. Beitbridge has many irrigation schemes, while livestock is the economic backbone of the province. In the tourism sector we have wildlife and recreational centres, such as shrines and Matobo Hills.”

Cde Ncube encouraged beneficiaries of the land reform programme to maximise the utilisation of land.

“We have to work very hard in this new dispensation, so that there is food security and the surplus is exported and generate foreign currency. Farmers should be assisted with farming equipment, while miners are equipped with mining equipment for effective production and development of our nation,” he said.

Cde Ncube added that the rebranding exercise seeks to change the negative perceptions on Zimbabwe.-@lvydvy1

Will murdering civilians in tens of thousands, destroying commercial agriculture and property rights along with the banking system as well as stealing tractors, equipment and agricultural goods from non Zanu mujibas be a continuation of this Zanu rebranding? Also, who will be on the list to be poisoned next, in Gwanda? Zanu really do have a wonderful image to uphold in both Matabeleland North and South. We can only assume that rebranding will mean a new Zanu Brand? The first Zanu Brand was Genocide. The second Zanu Brand was wholesale destruction of business and agriculture. This is probably going to be a Surprise Brand? The first step appears to have been to prevent the people of Matabeleland from re-instating their Historical Dignity by installing their traditional leader deposed by Cecil John Rhodes in about 1890? I think that Zanu is actually part of the British espionage plot to destroy the people of Matabeleland again? Why are the Matabele people banned from having a Traditional Leader by Zanu? At least the Matabeles are not so silly to believe that they can get diesel out of rock like the government people in the north of Zimbabwe?

Yes! Patrick Anthony Chinamasa has been very busy with Boris Johnson in Britain. We will need to watch the close co-operation between the British and Zanu? Maybe Mugabe had a point – and now New Zanu wants to get some more money from the British to line their pockets again? The British sent Scoones out to help Zanu destroy the agricultural sector in Zimbabwe – some 18 years ago. Now ED, Shiri, Chiwenga and Scoones will all want Honorary PhD’s for fixing an agriculture in Zimbabwe that they themselves destroyed? – all so that they could some Honorary Doctorates from the University of Sussex. It is a Zanu-British plot – definitely. Just look at what they have done to the country – just to get a PhD like Grace?
