The MANAGING director of New Aviation Company appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court yesterday facing a charge of selling a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to his friend without his consent.
Ronald Masimba Nyandoro (46) was remanded in custody to September 21 when he appeared before magistrate Meenal Muneshkumar Narotam.
The complainant in the case was identified as James Patrick Landon, his childhood friend.
It is the State’s case that on an unknown date but in November 2022, Nyandoro borrowed the vehicle from Landon for temporary use claiming his had broken down.
On April 27, 2023, Landon asked Nyandoro to return the vehicle but he failed to do so.
On June 6, 2023, Landon met Nyandoro at Borrowdale Brooke Club where the accused claimed that he had found a buyer for the vehicle.
Landon authorised him to sell the vehicle on his behalf.
Nyandoro later became evasive.
On July 20, 2023 the complainant discovered that the vehicle was being advertised on a Facebook platform by one Kirk Woest.
He reported the matter to the police who recovered the vehicle.
Police investigations revealed that Nyandoro had sold the vehicle for US$16 000 to Woest.
