THE Midlands State University (MSU) has once again deferred its graduation ceremony, which had been scheduled for tomorrow, as the date was clashing with the inauguration of President-designate Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“Midlands State University wishes to advise its valued stakeholders that due to circumstances beyond its control, the graduation ceremony, which was scheduled for November 24, 2017, has been postponed to a date to be advised,” the institution said yesterday in a notice posted on its website.

“Please note: Graduands and guests who have already received invitation cards should maintain them for participation in the graduation ceremony.”

This is the second time MSU has had to change the graduation dates within one week as the country’s political environment turned fluid, culminating in the resignation of President Robert Mugabe on Tuesday afternoon.

Although the institution did not disclose reasons for the latest postponement of the event, sources said the university had no choice, but to give way to Mnangagwa’s swearing-in ceremony today.

Mnangagwa is now expected to officiate at the MSU graduation at a later date.
