Speaking on the sidelines of the handover of bituminous products by the Japanese government at the Transport ministry offices in Chinhoyi offices this week, Madanha said there was a lot of construction going on at the site from different government ministries.
“I know people are working there and the department is working on the road and it will be soon through and serious start of Parliament Building construction will commence,” Madanha said.
But sources say the completion of the road was now long overdue, as it was supposed to start in April and end in August.
The 1,876km access road reportedly costs $2m.
The new Parliament will be constructed in Mt Hampden in Mashonaland West, the home province of President Robert Mugabe.
