Harare – President Robert Mugabe says whites came to Zimbabwe and wanted to make it their own, ignoring the fact that “what is not yours will never be yours”.

The 93-year-old president was speaking at a state funeral on Thursday at which he hailed the resistance fight by the likes of former vice president Joseph Msika against white minority rule.
“If you come to my place and claim it’s yours, I will fight you. In the same vein, this is what the likes of Joseph Msika resisted,” Mugabe said at the funeral of Msika’s widow, 89-year-old Maria Msika.
“Whites came to Zimbabwe and wanted to make it theirs oblivious of the fact that what is not yours will never be yours no matter how much you fight for it,” the state-run Herald quoted the president as saying in his speech at Harare’s National Heroes Acre.
Mugabe launched a sometimes violent land reform programme to seize farms from white landowners in 2000. Out of around 4 000 on the land then, only a few hundred remain.
At a series of countrywide rallies held since June, the youth wing of his Zanu-PF party has been urging the ageing leader to seize remaining white-owned farms to redistribute to young party members.

But he & his wife can take land from poor villagers in Mazoe & all the diamond bearing land away from the locals, bloody thieving, bully of a thug.
It’s not yours because I already stole it from the povo.
Typical of a meglomaniac
So can I have the contents of three homes on the farm back please? Also the equipment on the same farm? Oh plus the vehicles, the boat and the fertilizer, chemicals and fuel? Because they are NOT YOURS, THEY ARE MINE.
Mr. Mugabe is a true hero and it is truly fitting that such wonderful heroes have a very special place of their own to be remembered for thousands of years to come. These were the true heroes who bayoneted a six week old baby Natasha Glennie to death at Chimaninmani and then having shot down a civilian Viscount on its way between Harare and Kariba – they then saw fit to be real heroes all over again and murdered the shattered survivors. This is vintage heroism from Zanu. Past heroism is the best indication for future heroism. These are really brave freedom fighters not terrorists. Similarly – people who bayonet 6 week old babies and shoot down civilian aeroplanes today in the Middle East – are true freedom fighters in Lord Carrington and Henry Kissinger’s mind? Carrrington and Kissinger – and Zanu are the stuff that legendary heroes of made of. We salute these brave heroes all together. Perhaps Kissinger and Carrington should also be buried at Heroes Acre with Mugabe?
