The Commission of Inquiry into the shootings of 1 August 2018 has been loudly condemned by all the pro-human rights groups because of the perceived alignment of the commissioners to the President or the ruling party.

A soldier fires shots towards demonstrators, on August 1 2018, in Harare, as protests erupted over alleged fraud in the country’s election. Protests in Zimbabwe’s historic elections turned bloody on August 1 as a man was shot dead during demonstrations over alleged vote fraud and the president appealed for calm. However, now that they are in place, one hopes that they will not ignore factors such as why Vice-President initially denied that there had been any shooting incident, trying to give an impression that the deceased had been stabbed to death.

We hope the Commission will try to establish the motive of forcing doctors to write reports that the deceased had died of stab wounds, to the extent that at least one of the families had to hire the services of lawyer to ensure that a correct report of the cause of death was written.

Failure to address these and other issues will prove to the world that ED is fake.

Why report that ONE man died. Yes the abomination is that our soldiers opened fire with live amunition on our citizens (unarmed) exercising their constitutional rights. It has been reported that SIX people died.
