Parliament begins impeachment session

ZANU-PF spokesperson Simon Moyo arrived at Parliament a few minutes ago. “The time has come indeed, the moment of truth,” he said before entering.

“We’ve got the numbers, there is no doubt about that. We are the ruling party,” Moyo said ahead of the impeachment vote against President Robert Mugabe today.

MPs have been arriving for some time. The session is scheduled to start at 2.30pm.  One of the reasons that will be advanced to remove  Mugabe is that he is incapacitated.

Thousands of people are gathered outside Parliament and in the adjacent Africa Unity Square thousands have gathered for prayer.
