A RUSAPE man and his two wives have been arrested over a number of alleged unlawful entry allegations.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luxon Chananda confirmed the arrest of Bright Makwindi (33) and his two wives Memory Mandindo (29) and Luica Chikono, whose age was not given in court papers.
Chananda said the law enforcement agents launched a manhunt for the trio after a number of unlawful entry cases linked to them had been reported between March and April 19.
The police have so far received 11 reports linked to the three.
On April 19, Chananda said, police in Rusape were on patrol when they saw Makwindi loitering in the Mabvazuva area.
They searched his bag and found out house-breaking tools, but Makwindi managed to escape.
Following further investigations, Makwindi was later found at home with wives. He was arrested and he revealed that his wives worked as advance parties.
Chananda said Makwindi told them that Mandindo and Chikono would visit houses in Rusape to ask for water, and if there was no one at the house, they would call him and he would go there to break in and steal.
They allegedly stole various household gadgets such as television sets, gas stoves and blankets, among others. Goods stolen were valued at
$265 000.
