Zimbabwe leads the world as the most expensive fuel not only on the African continent but globally too. Zimbabweans are forking $3.31 for petrol compared to drivers in China, who at second place on our list, pay $2.06.The embattled African country is facing its worst petrol shortage in a decade.The average price of fuel around the world is $1.09 per litre. Venezuelan motorists are still enjoying the cheapest fuel in the world at $0.01 a litre of petrol.

But the $3.31/per litre Zimbabwean price for petrol is not correct. This is 3.31 Zimbabwe bond note which is practically around US$1.10. If you are buying petrol in Zimbabwe the price change in US dollars has been marginal hovering around US$1.40 /1.50 when supply is really bad
Silly reporting comrades – petrol in ZW 3.31 mabondi notes – divide that by 3.50 ( black market 3.50 bondi to 1 USD ) and you get a price of 94 US cents. Thats the real true price – so learn to think stright Mr Reporter !
