TWO suspected armed robbers were arrested on Sunday in Harare, a few minutes after they had robbed a man of his cellphone, wallet, a pair of shoes and clothes.
The stolen goods were recovered.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said police in Harare arrested Leeroy Dhewa (28) and Learmore Mutiro (29) after a robbery along Warberry Road in Mabelreign where the complainant was attacked and his cellphone, wallet, a pair of shoes and clothing were stolen.
“The arrest led to the recovery of the stolen items,” he said.
Police in Harare are investigating a robbery where three passengers attacked and robbed a motorist giving them a lift.
The two men and a woman stole three cellphones on Saturday opposite Aspindale Truck Shop.
The motorist had offered a lift to the suspects at a service station in Glen View 8.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects
