Trust founder Sibahle Moyo told Southern Eye that 250 people living with HIV and Aids benefited from the food hampers in Bulawayo.

THE Bulawayo South Aids Trustees (BSAT) has donated food humpers to HIV positive people in various parts of the country.

Trust founder Sibahle Moyo told Southern Eye that 250 people living with HIV and Aids benefited from the food hampers in Bulawayo.

“BSAT is an organisation that focuses on people living with HIV/Aids and also lends a helping hand to disadvantaged children in communities. Funded by Franciscan AID, BSAT also introduced a chicken project where 500 live birds were donated. They will be shared among five HIV support groups,” Moyo said.

“HIV-positive people in the city received 10kg mealie-meal, a pack of soya chunks, two litres of cooking oil, salt and two packs of beans. We are donating these food hampers to cheer them up. In the future, we are expecting this project to be bigger. We look forward to introducing more projects.”

 One of the recipients, Pamela Sibanda said: “It is not everyday that you get somebody who really cares about people living with HIV. We really appreciate what this organisation is doing for us.”
