HARARE – Zimbabweans might be waking up to rain and yet more mud, but the
good news is that the weather is still set to improve, with most areas
mostly sunny and hot, the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has
said.

Temperatures are expected to rise with the sun breaking through thick
cloud for bright spells.

Meteorologists have warned that there may still be the odd thundery
shower. “Much of the country is forecast to be mostly sunny and hot, with
isolated thunderstorms in all Matabeleland provinces, Bulawayo
Metropolitan Province, Harare Metropolitan Province and all Mashonaland
provinces,” MSD meteorologist James Ngoma said.

This comes as rainfall activity has been continuing in most parts of the
Mashonaland provinces, while Harare has been generally dry.

“There was rainfall activity in the extreme northern areas of Matabeleland
North Province, and all Mashonaland Provinces with some of the notable
amounts measured at our Meteorological Stations being: 50millimetres (mm)
at Hwange Airport, 28mm at Hwange town, 27mm at Bindura University and
25mm at Centenary,” Ngoma said.
