AN outpouring of grief continues online in the wake of a tragedy for a Zimbabwean family in New Zealand.

A Zimbabwean man, who had just relocated to New Zealand with his family, was killed in a road accident two weeks ago.

Killian Musarurwa, 45, died in an accident on State Highway 14 in New Zealand on April 16 while he was on his way to work.

He left behind his wife Maria and their four kids, including a set of 16-year-old twins.

The family only recently relocated to New Zealand in the past few months.

Maria, who works at BestStart Maunu, was the first to arrive in New Zealand in July last year while her late husband, Killian, arrived in November, accompanied by their four children.

Maria was grateful for the African community and those in Maunu who have offered comfort and for BestStart who had been taking turns cooking food for her family.

A Givealittle page has been set up by Maria’s employer to assist the family during this time.

Their children are 16-year-old twins Dean and Lynn, 10-year-old Marshall, and five-year-old Emanuel.

Killian moved to Whangārei from Zimbabwe less than six months ago.

He was driving along State Highway 14 to his work at Silver Fern Farms in Dargaville when that life was cut short on April 16.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Killian died at the crash scene.

There has been profound grief online in the wake of the tragedy.
