HARARE – Wholesaler Mahomed Mussa (MM) has described as “malicious and a
hoax” statements that it had emptied its retail shelves in Harare,
officials said yesterday.
MM Wholesalers is one of the leading wholesale suppliers of a wide range
of products located in Harare. This comes on the back of a deepening
foreign currency shortage and falling rates of the bond note or electronic
transfers, which have had a knock-on effect on the prices of basic
commodities.
“MM wishes to advise the transacting public and nation at large that it
has noted with… disdain the… photo-shopped images being circulated by
some mischievous elements on social media are untrue..,” a management
representative said.
“MM is a law-abiding entity that strives to play its part in the growth of
Zimbabwe and has never shied away from conducting business even in the
most adverse of environments,” they said, adding “it was, therefore,
prudent that we reassure the nation, government and all our valued
stakeholders that we remain open for business…”
However, MM conceded that “in view of the forex challenges being
experienced in the country, some suppliers have been erratic with
deliveries and taking too long to deliver on orders, while some have come
in smaller quantities…”
COMMENTS
ZW is pretty messed up when the Indians start to leave comrades !?
What are you saying or trying to say. You sound confused, Zimbabwe belongs to every citizen and when a certain racial group makes success through hard honest work why not recognize this
Is Mahomed Mussa closing down or not ? – that is the question comrade
I have known Mohamed Musa for many years he arrived in Rhodesia around the time of the dissolution of the Federation of the two Rhodesia’s and Nyasaland. He was from the north from Lusaka. Through hard work over many years he eventually built his wholesale empire. If only Zimbabweans could take to know this great loyal countryman and then make a judgement. He is no Philip Chiyangwa who loves to flaunt his wealth earned from dubious means ie through political affiliations etc. Mohamed Musa is a simple family person he lives in a modest house and does not spend his wealth on the frivolous. He has a great heart and is the most charitable person in the Muslim community . He contributes thousands of dollars of the interest money to non Muslims since the receiving of interest is considered ha ram ie forbidden. Muslims are also obliged to give charity on their net earnings which Mohamed Musa imparts with through a zakaat fund. I am not pulling for this benevolent person because I may sound as a fan of this Muslim brother. I live in the USA I am Zimbabwean born bred and educated in Harare
Mohamed Mussa is a good person – of that i have no doubt – the question is asked once again – is Mahomed closing his successful shop? No need to add all the charitable stuff he does – that is not the point.
Maybe Mahomed wants to live in another country and thinks its time to move on – much like you have obviously done Nazmo
