A 39-year-old Eastview woman, Judith Ruzvidzo, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court last Friday, facing fraud charges.

She allegedly swindled five aspiring nurses and nurse aides out of a combined US$3 000 by falsely claiming she could secure training placements at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Ruzvidzo was remanded in custody and is expected back in court on June 23 while investigations continue.

The State alleges that in February 2026, Ruzvidzo contacted one of the complainants, who is reportedly her friend, claiming she could facilitate nursing training placements at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

She allegedly encouraged the complainant to recruit other interested candidates seeking nursing and nurse aide opportunities.

According to court papers, on February 15, 2026, at around midday, the complainant met Ruzvidzo at her Eastview residence in the company of Agnes Juma.

During the meeting, the complainant and four other prospective candidates allegedly paid Ruzvidzo US$600 each, bringing the total amount handed over to US$3 000.

Ruzvidzo allegedly assured the complainants that she would secure the promised placements by May 15, 2026.

However, when the complainants began making follow-ups the following day, she allegedly became unreachable, with her mobile phone going unanswered.

After comparing notes, the five complainants reportedly realised they had all paid the same amount and suspected they had been defrauded.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to investigations.

On May 27, 2026, at around 2pm, detectives arrested Ruzvidzo at her residence in Eastview.
