The candidate of Mozambique’s ruling Frelimo Party for the 15 October presidential elections, former defence minister Filipe Nyusi, departed on Monday on a working visit to Zimbabwe.

During his visit he will meet with government figures and representatives of the ruling party ZANU-PF. It is expected that he will also meet President Robert Mugabe.

The meetings will be an opportunity for Nyusi to expound his vision for Mozambique’s future. This focusses on preserving peace and consolidating national unity as the foundation for economic and social development.

Nyusi will also hold an audience with Mozambicans living in Zimbabwe during which he will listen to their concerns and give his perspective on current developments.

As part of his international campaign, Filipe Nyusi has already visited Tanzania, Angola, Namibia and the United States of America.

The problem with the guys is that they take their campaign to their fellow countrymen in Zimbabwe when they need their votes. When these people come to visit their relatives back home they are treated as outcasts. Senhor Nyusi, lempra te que nosso voto e importante. Regani hondo ngenyu naJakama. Queremos paz!
