DISCIPLINARY committee for ZESA Holdings has recommended the dismissal of organisers of a recent demonstration against failure by their employer to pay them outstanding salaries, The Financial Gazette has learnt.

One worker said he had received a letter of dismissal last week after losing his case before the disciplinary committee. “I have just received my letter of dismissal following a hearing held recently,” said one worker on condition of anonymity. The disciplinary process came after union leaders arranged a demonstration against their employer, who had reneged on a 2012 collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that instructed the company to pay a minimum wage of $275 to employees in grade A1.
