Sunday Mail editor Edmund Kudzayi and his brother Phillip, who are accused of being the brains behind the shadowy Facebook character Baba Jukwa, were further remanded to December 8 when they appeared in court on Friday. Harare magistrate Mr Milton Serima also remanded a 20-year-old University of Zimbabwe student, Romeo Musemburi, to February 20.

Musemburi allegedly sent an email message to Baba Jukwa soliciting for arms of war to fight for democracy in Zimbabwe.
Prosecutor Ms Sharon Mashavira told the court that extra-territorial investigations were not yet complete.

Kudzayi and Philip, who are out on bail, are facing charges involving banditry, insurgency and demeaning the Office of the President by allegedly running an online campaign against the Government under the Facebook page Baba Jukwa.

It is alleged that on April last year, Kudzayi hatched a plan with his brother, Philip, to overthrow the Government through unconstitutional means.
They allegedly created a Gmail account, babajukwa2013@gmail.com, using a mobile phone line registered in Philip’s name, but used by Kudzayi.

The two allegedly formed two separate groups called the Gunda Nleya Brigade and the Zimbabwe Revolutionary Army to carry out the alleged project.
The suspects allegedly posted articles on the Baba Jukwa Facebook page which encouraged rebellion against the Zanu-PF Government. They also posted articles to the effect that they had a Dare Rechimurenga in place and that a team was on the ground studying the situation in Zimbabwe.

It is alleged investigations revealed that the two were in control of the Baba Jukwa Gmail account.
