ZANU (PF) will Wednesday deliberate on the recommendations which were put by the Manicaland province to expel the party’s former has secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa, a senior official with the party has announced.

Mutasa faces the axe after confronting the party over the December congress which he said was unconstitutional.

The former Presidential Affairs Minister did not make it in the party’s Manicaland provincial leadership elections and was left out of both the central committee and the politburo.

He was ousted from government at the congress together with former Vice President Joice Mujuru on allegations of planning to remove President Robert Mugabe (90) from his post.

Both Mutasa and Mujuru deny the allegations.

Since his ouster Mutasa has been vocal challenging the party to reconsider its decision of dumping him together with several government ministers.

Announcing the names of the party’s candidates who won their internal by- elections on two constituencies which were held at the weekend in Mount Darwin and Chirumanzu ZANU(PF) secretary for the commissariat Saviour Kasukuwere said there is no reverse on expelling Mutasa.

“We have been said it before and I do not see how the politburo will stand in the way of that kind of recommendation coming from Manicaland. Why would we turn around and say withdraw it?”He said

“The party is very clear and it is very straight forward that if you cross the line and if you decide to behave in a manner that’s unbecoming that undermines our party and the way we have been working certainly it is not something that the party will stand and just allow to happen. We have got to invoke discipline in the party .So the recommendations by Manicaland have been received and the politburo which is the highest decision making body of the party will sit tomorrow “.
