THE Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) says they are soliciting for signatures with the aim of petitioning parliament over health minister David Parirenyatwa’s abuse of office and at the same time resolved not to work outside their on-call schedules until government addresses their concerns.

Doctors want Parirenyatwa, who is accused of siphoning $100, 000 from the struggling PSMAS, to resign.

ZHDA which held its Annual General Meeting at the weekend said Parienyatwa was abusing his cabinet position to peddle his personal interests at the expense of doctors and the general public.

The doctors said Parirenyatwa’s actions ammounted to sabotage to government’s ZIMASSET goals as well as the 10 Point Plan and therefore he should resign or be fired.

“We resolved at the AGM that the minister of must resign over his failure to address issues affecting doctors and as well as the recent PSMAS saga,” said ZHDA in a statement Monday.

“Doctors will therefore and forthwith mobilise for a nationwide petition that shall be submitted to parliament to put pressure on Dr. Parirenyatwa and his cabal.”

Top ministry officials who include permanent secretary Gerald Gwinji were recently accused of abusing part of the Health Transition Fund which was meant for practising doctors.

Doctors said they also resolved to “refuse to work outside the normal on-call schedules and any other work outside that must be paid”. ,

They said they “will not subsidize the government’s failure to attract and retain medical doctors”.

Our country is kaput because of these thugs. Please please please simply die and leave us alone. You are no good to us at all just mere burdens.

Parirenyatwa’s constituency is ZANUPF, as long it maintains its silence as per its tradition, then Pari’s recent is in tandem with views of his PARTY and the ZimASSET green book. So no amount of shouting/howling will force the patriotic Pari to resign
