via Gomwe up for extortion – NewsDay Zimbabwe June 2, 2015 by Paidamoyo Muzulu
ZANU PF Harare youth provincial chairperson Godwin Gomwe and his six co-accused yesterday appeared before provincial magistrate Vakai Chikwekwe facing charges of extorting $46 000 from home-seekers in the capital.
The seven were remanded in custody to today for their bail hearing. Prosecutor Michael Reza pleaded with the court to deny them bail arguing that they were likely to abscond and interfere with investigations.
Gomwe was represented by John Ndomene while his alleged accomplices — Muchinerepi Mpindu, Fidelis Ndaradza, Humphrey Madenyika, Harauwandi Munyaviri, Norah Torongo and Josephine Hadziende — were represented by Rungano Mahuni.
