Party spokesperson, Simon Khaya Moyo told journalists that national commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere had reversed changes made to the Masvingo provincial executive, where perceived G40 members were reassigned to less influential posts, as Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa loyalists flexed their muscle.
“Kasukuwere gave a comprehensive report on the status of the party throughout the country,” Moyo said.
“He said, generally, the party is stable in all provinces. Structures of the party remain, as they have been. In other words, no province can effect changes on the structure without following laid-down party guidelines, including, of course, Masvingo province. The national commissar noted that recent changes announced in Masvingo province are null and void.”
Moyo said Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa briefed the politburo on the cash crisis and outlined several proposed interventions to resolve the cash squeeze.
He said deputy youth secretary Kudzai Chipanga will go around the country with various government ministers to thank provinces for their support in the million-man march held in Harare on May 25 in solidarity with President Robert Mugabe.
“The youth league shall be visiting all administrative districts expressing gratitude for the amount of work our leadership in provinces did in ensuring the success of the million-man march,” Moyo said.
“The leadership will be accompanied by various ministers to explain to the youths how their ministries could assist the young people in various projects youths can embark on.”
