PROSECUTOR General Johannes Tomana has been arrested and is expected to appear in court Tuesday.

Sources said Tomana will likely be charged with abuse of office after the withdrawal of charges against two suspects in the alleged bomb attempt a dairy firm owned by President Robert Mugabe.

Two of the suspects, said to be attached to the intelligence services, had their charges withdrawn with prosecutors saying they would become chief witnesses.

Tomana’s arrest comes at a time tensions are heightening in government and the ruling Zanu PF party between rival factions reportedly rallying behind First Lady Grace Mugabe and Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The pro-Mnangagwa war veterans are pushing for the ouster of higher education minister Jonathan Moyo who is said to lead a faction backing Grace Mugabe.

Tomana is understood to be an ally of the vice president.

They should have arrested him on a Friday and bring him to court the following Monday.
The bomb case was a ruse – everybody knows that.

This gets more ridiculous by the day, I am no fan of the man, but seriously doubt he would jeopardise his very cushy job for anything as ridiculous as this, if indeed, it occurred……….
