Unbridled Zanu (PF) propaganda

The average monthly salary – for the fortunate minority who have actual jobs, as opposed to airtime vending – is $300. There are no trees whose branches shed American dollars. It is therefore important that, when one makes the sacrifice of buying a newspaper, one receives a full dollar’s worth of information.

But lately the citizenry – compelled by the daily search for employment to read the state press – have been assailed with unbridled Zanu (PF) propaganda, which in recent months has been all about the party’s December congress.

In the last week, there has been none of the first lady’s verbal incontinence – thank goodness. Perhaps her advisors have finally whispered sense into her ear. But, as Murphy’s Law dictates, where one irritant departs, another enters to fill the void. The silence of the first lady only means that the little planets which, of late, have spun in her orbit, have shifted into view.

Emmerson Mnangagwa, widely believed to be the mastermind behind Grace’s meteoric rise to political prominence, says he and his rival Joice Mujuru are comrades who have worked together and will continue to do so. The justice minister has even dissuaded Zanu (PF) members from chanting divisive slogans, which surprises us considering the satisfied smirk he wore during Grace’s caustic speeches.
