Zanu PF youths in Mashonaland West have vowed to take over Temba Mliswa’s farm, accusing him of benefiting from the ruling party’s benevolence.

Mliswa, who is an independent candidate in the June 10 Hurungwe West by-election, had his lodge at his Spring Farm allegedly invaded by Zanu PF youths who chased away clients on Tuesday night.

This came hardly two days after violence reportedly broke out on Sunday in Hurungwe West constituency where traditional leaders were allegedly attacked by Zanu PF youths for supporting Mliswa.

Zanu PF Mashonaland West Youth chairman Vengesai Musengi said youths had no apologies and would continue grabbing everything that Mliswa acquired while in the party.

“Mliswa has continued to disrespect senior members and we are going to take everything that he benefited under the name of Zanu PF. How can he bite the hand that feeds him?”queried Musengi.

Mashonaland West Zanu PF bigwigs were reportedly eyeing the lodge which Mliswa claims to have bought from a white commercial farmer during the land reform programme.

Mliswa, who was fired from Zanu PF in March and subsequently recalled as Hurungwe MP, told NewsDay that he would not retaliate despite extreme provocation from his rivals.

“This is total intimidation. They are trying to provoke me. However, I will not bite the bait because it’s only a few days before the elections,” he said. “God has already chosen a leader and there is no need to harm people and create anarchy.”
