via Mugabe’s Trips to Asia Worrying Zimbabweans by Gibbs Dube 17.05.2014 VOAZimbabwe
Some Zimbabweans have expressed concern over President Robert Mugabe’s constant visits to Singapore where he usually undergoes what the government describes as a routine eye check up.

They say his third visit this week to the Asian nation is worrying as the country needs a leader who can stir Zimbabwe out of its current social and economic problems.
One of the concerned Zimbabweans is human rights activist, Clement Moyo, who says the president’s continuous absences are an indication that he is no longer fit to rule the country.

But Zanu PF activist Morris Ngwenya says Mr. Mugabe’s visits have nothing to do with issues like corruption.

Independent political analyst David Monyae says his trips are creating a lot of political anxiety in Zimbabwe and beyond.

COMMENTS
Why on earth would his absence cause “political anxiety in Zimbabwe and beyond”? I would think that many will welcome his death and breath a sigh of relief that finally he is dead! I cant see Bots, SA, Zam, Namibia, Moz or other loosing any sleep over Zim once this finally, finally happens. They will utter all the drivel expected but noone will mean it and one hopes they will move on.
TELLS US WE CAN DO WITHOUT HIM!
“Worrying” is the wrong word, and you know it.
I happily expect that one of these trips will be his last
Robert Mugabe ‘s presence or absence makes little to no difference to the country. We suffer when he is there,we suffer when he is out. I just think no 90 year old has the presence of mind for a grueling demanding job such as running the country especially a country whose needs are as complex as ours.
There are people who think that RGM is super human and not subject to the same aging and degenerative processes as ‘lesser mortals.’
He is past it. He needs to put his feet up some where and nurse his eyes.I dont believe Mugabe can a focus with the remotest of clarity on all the issues that require his attention in office day in day out 9am to 5pm.Which is why he tends to repeat the same tried and tested mantras coz he knows he is safe there.
If he was my father running even a household I would have had him in his slippers, surrounded by grandkids and telling stories or writing his autobiography more than 10years ago.
please take a bow it just might improve his quality of life ,who knows.
Why worry about something you don’t need and can well do without.
I’m not worried at all. The sooner he departs to the ‘blacks only farm in the sky’ the better.
I for one am not worried – not at all. I am actually happy. I wish he stays there and never comes back or better still come back in a coffin!!
I always wonder what his children think of him, especially Bona who is now a grown up and educated?
What with the embarassing and childish insults from him and disGrace against their political opponents during the 2013 elections?
Zimbos only worry the old fart will come back…..alive.
The only worry is that they are keeping him alive
