Tribute to Nelson Mandela – ZUNDE

via Tribute to Nelson Mandela December 9, 2013 via ZimbabweSituation Facebook

Today, we join South Africa and the rest of the world not in mourning but commemorating and celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela, an iconic statesman whose influence and towering image overlapped two historic centuries. Great people are even greater in death. Such was Nelson Mandela.

Not only was Madiba a citizen of South Africa, but indeed, a citizen of the universe. While he was deprived of 27 precious years of his life through circumstances too painful to mention, at ZUNDE, we strongly believe that the three remarkable decades shall forever be inscribed in our hearts.

Mandela’s unprecedented incarceration was not in vain. If anything, it was time that that was invested in probity. Through his selfless sacrifice, we have leant, understood and appreciated the true meaning of forgiveness, unity, dignity, humility, humanity and most importantly, freedom. He also taught us that it is quite possible for a founding father to voluntarily exit active politics and enjoy private life while the country still moves on.

Zimbabweans United for Democracy (ZUNDE) represents aspirations of a new generation of progressive Zimbabweans who take pride in reflecting on Nelson Mandela’s amazing life as a template for building our future and that of posterity. Nelson Mandela admirably and fully accomplished his mission. He inspires us to accomplish ours too. That one of the greatest statesmen of our time will be buried in his rural village of Qunu, demonstrates that Madiba’s humility extends beyond the grave.

Hamba kahle Madiba.

Zunde you have joined the fray so that you can come back home and rip off your fellow Zimbabweans. If you are so committed to the cause why not get all the splinter groups where you are and form a united front . Your agenda is not one of unity its got to do with self attainment. Like all before you preaching a policy is easy but implementing it is hard. MANDELA showed you all how working together is about. Do you have the same ideals given your credentials? Lets practice what we preach and then can we go a long way. In the meantime does your party cater for all races or is it closed shop just for sekurus?

Hlaba, there are too many burial societies in existence, ZUNDE is NOT one of them. If you think this is a little project, wait and see what’s on the horizon. The ball game has changed. Of course, as a ZANU PF zealot whose performance appraisal is based on how many times you attack your paymaster’s opponents, you are entiltled to your forlon view. keep dreaming while the world moves on. “It always looks impossible until it’s done” – Obama.
