Aussies ask govt to find Dzamara

via Aussies ask govt to find Dzamara – The Zimbabwe 9 July 2015

Australia says disappearance of the missing rights activist Itai Dzamara’s almost four months ago is “disturbing” and encourages the appropriate authorities to investigate and advise the public of the outcome.

Dzamara was abducted on 9 March by suspected state security details from his Harare’s Glen View home.

He was protesting against President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF government’s failure honour its July 31st 2013 election campaign promises of creating 2.2 million jobs.

The Journalist –cum rights activist had mobilized hoards of youths in his Occupy Africa Unity Square peaceful anti-Mugabe protest, prior to his disappearance.

Despite a court order which was issued by the High Court in March to government through the former Home affairs Minister Kembo Mohadi and the Hapiton Bonyongwe the head of the Central Intelligence Organisation CIO to search and find Zamara there has not been any communication from government on their efforts to find him.

In an Interview with TheZimbabwean Wednesday in Harare, the new Australian envoy to Zimbabwe Suzanne McCourt said government should at least “advise the public” on the investigations.

“We have been concerned as have other Embassies. I am aware of Itai Dzamara’s disappearance and we have encouraged through statements the appropriate authorities to investigate and find out what happened to him,” she said.

“It is almost four months, if not already four months and that must be very distressing to his family, and it will be good for the Zimbabwean public to find out what happened.

Ambassador McCourt said, “I am not aware if there has been internal reporting within the government or within its authorities about this matter, but we have not seen anything to my knowledge in the public sphere.

“So it would be appropriate for some advice about what the investigation has found out to be made public”.

The Aussie Ambassador should realize that there is nothing to report. The man was abducted and murdered by the CIO operatives on the instruction of Mugabe and if they report anything, the Government will be implicated and in a dictatorship that will just not happen. If he was still alive, some indication of his whereabouts would have come clear by now – hence the deduction that he was murdered by state operatives.

It is not the first time a citizen of Zimbabwe was murdered by state operatives and it will not be the last time it happened. The Mafia ruling Zimbabwe use mafioso methods to intimidate the people into submission and this is a typical case.
