Government to construct 2,000 schools

via Bulawayo24 NEWS | Government to construct 2,000 schools 08 September 2014

More than 2 000 schools will be constructed in the country over the next few years following the opening of satellite schools in new resettlement areas and new urban settlements, a government official has revealed.

Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education minister Paul Mavhima said government was working with a private banking institution to ensure that more schools were constructed in the country and also to improve education infrastructure.

Mavhima said he must acknowledge that the country is facing a deficit of school infrastructure and there is need to construct schools countrywide and among this are satellite schools.

well its like spending all one’s money on buying worthless stands built to foundation level and then end up with no money to finish those stands. Mvura youya wongo naiwa uchiti I have 100 stands aripa foundation. Why not built few schools and improve the ones aripo for now a simple impact and ROI will determine the right allocation of scarce resources. Its better to buy books and have vana 5 sharing one book than to build 2000 and not have funds to pay the teachers and buy any books.Isu vamwe taifamba more than 10km each way to school everyday kumusha uko

No point in building new schools when you can’t look after the existing ones. There are plenty of fotos on the net of schools that have become destroyed. Look at those you fool and think what you’ll do with new ones. Trash them steal the fittings? Mugabe doesn’t want whites so I assume he doesn’t want their education so go back to the bush and learn to climb trees again. To do that you don’t need schools it’s a white mans thing.

Farm invasions are still happening with new owners being displaced by newer invaders. The situation is still very fluid. Who really knows who lives where and what resources they require , be it schools or clinics? How did the Government come up with 2000 schools? Don’t tell me same way as Zimasset projections and the 2M jobs

New schools!!! No jobs for school leavers from existing schools. Unobva washaya kuti zviri kumbofamba sei? In Chikaranga they say “Shumo yazvo tsakata” meaning it defies logic.
