MDC-Renewal team claims it is immensely benefiting from political upheavals dogging other parties as it is being overwhelmed by new members joining in countrywide.
Chairperson of the party’s international relations and Diaspora committee, Gorden Moyo, yesterday, without giving figures, said ordinary Zimbabweans and councillors were flocking to the party, adding it was a morale booster.
“This past weekend we held what we termed Orange Weekend and all of our meetings in Bulawayo and other centres were oversubscribed,” he said.
“We underestimated our pull factor as in Bulawayo we had four teams on the ground instead of eight.
“The renewal team is the only party in the country that is stable. The upheavals in other parties is driving people to us.”
MDC-Renewal has since April said it was open to any coalition with progressive political parties ahead of the next polls in 2018.
Recently, the Welshman Ncube-led MDC and MDC-Renewal signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), as talks for a broader grand coalition gather momentum.
The agreement was signed by the two secretary-generals of the MDC and the MDC-Renewal Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga and Tendai Biti, respectively.
Moyo said at the weekend all Diaspora organs had completed the restructuring process and the southern African branches were now preparing the leadership tours.
“In mid-November, we will be visiting Diaspora structures and southern Africa is the first port of call. West Africa has been put on hold due to the Ebola outbreak,” he said.
The team will consist of the leader of the guardian council Sekai Holland, chairman Sipepa Nkomo, Biti, treasurer-general Elton Mangoma, Lucia Matibenga and Moyo.
He said the MDC-Renewal was a force to reckon with as it sent teams to monitor recent elections in Mozambique and Botswana.

If the company is benefiting from the instability of ZANU PF and MDC,what is it doing to lure supporters due to its policies not due to problems somewhere else? The fact that renewal team calls itself MDC shows it is ignorant and doesn’t know what a problem is.They still suffer identity crisis as they want to carry a name which it says its corrupted.On its own, its a dead horse.Remember, when floods come, everyone tries to go to a higher ground.When the floods are gone, the same people who took shelter at a higher ground go back to their homes .

In politics you have to pretend everything is well even when things are not well. We wait for your first public rally, I genuinely want to attend. I am worried like, Zunde you seem to be only talk shop, and the people are not buying or biting it seems.
I think these guys hv a name….Renewal MDC. They dont want to defect from the name as well. It is not uncommon in Zim. Rember Zanu ndonga, zanu pf, zanu, zapu, pf zapu etc. It is a strategy bcz if yu look at mkd, zunde etc, they even could not take off. I tell you, if elections are done today mdc-r will gunner some support from pple taaking for mdc led by tsvangison. Ask the major beneficiary welchman…..over time he cant convince anyone that he is MDC-T
Someone in opposition politics must begin to stand up and lead. Stop calling people names and stop the back stabbing. Start and aggressive approach to national healing and cohesion even if you don’t agree with all the ideals of the other parties. Until Zimbabwe begins to work together as a nation, admits its sin,forgives and begins to accept that everyone has the right to join whatever party they choose and begin to love and respect our fellow Zimbabwe we are going nowhere. I see the hatred, bitterness and unforgiveness in our nation is crippling us.Oh yes, and the jealousy.

I may not know much about scavangers and other animals and birds of prey, but I do know that hyenas are one type of animals that thrive on confusion of the killers or prey. So for a reputable man like Gordon to say that they are benefiting from the confusion or problems from other political parties to increase membership, it simple places them in the bin as they are feeding on left overs. What will happen when the confusion ceases in the two.
Of allm the animal kingdoms scavangers are the only that thrieve in the confusion of the hunters or prey.

How can call a party that has not yet been formed stable. Instability comes when pple start jostling for positions when the party is finally formed. We wonder is your party in the making has direction becoz you have already entered into agreement with mdc-n before you have been encorporated into a formal party. Whos is exactly entering into that agreement, the party or certain individuals. Though unpopular, at Ncube already has a party, so what is actually happening is that you pple are joining Ncube’s party becoz you haven’t got a party of your own yet.
