via CHRA denies MDC-T partnership September 25, 2014
THE Combined Harare Residents’ Association (CHRA) has said it is non-partisan and would not partner the MDC-T or any other political party.
In a statement responding to reports that it would support proposed MDC-T protests against government’s failure to address the country’s economic challenges, CHRA said it had its own planned peaceful forms of engagement that it launched in June 2014 which have nothing to do with the MDC-T.
“Our constitution and operating procedures strictly bar any association of CHRA with partisan activities,” said the residents’ body.
COMMENTS
CHRA is right in not wanting to be indetified as an organisation in the demonistration by MDC, but its shooting its self in the foot since failures by any organisation need to be addressed by others for solidarity purpose. Any injury to one is an injury to all. MDC or ZANU PF are none existant without people. The people are the ones that are affected as such the people who makes up CHRA are affected by the failures of ZANU PF or even MDC to deliver on whatever promise they may have made consciously or not towards elections. Hence if anyone fails to deliver nothing wrong in demanding and enforce that party for accountability.
