Zanu-PF Mashonaland West youth league has resolved that five National Assembly members should be barred from carrying out party activities until they are cleared of allegations of wrongdoing. Those targeted with prohibition orders are Cdes Webster Shamu (Chegutu East), Temba Mliswa (Hurungwe West), Kindness Paradza (Makonde), Sylvester Nguni (Mhondoro-Mubaira) and Adrian Musiiwa (Sanyati).

The resolution was made by the executive at its meeting on Saturday and it now awaits endorsement by the provincial co-ordinating committee.

Other organs, including the Women’s League and the main wing are expected to follow suit.

Provincial youth chairman Cde Vengai Musengi said his executive was unanimous in its decision to have the five prohibited from carrying out activities in their constituencies.

“As youths, we are saying these people (legislators) had their preferred candidate and can they be loyal to the President of the party?” he said.

Provincial chairman Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi was evasive when contacted for comment on the position of the main wing.

“There is nothing like that at the moment,” he said.

Cde Shamu, Mliswa, Paradza, Nguni and Musiiwa are accused of pursuing a factional agenda with ousted VP Joice Mujuru which sought to topple President Mugabe.

The cabal is alleged to have planned to also assassinate the President.

Cde Musengi said the four would have to be cleared by the party before they can resume their duties.
