THE Zanu-PF Harare provincial Youth League executive on Tuesday booted out six of its members, while the Women’s League fired its deputy chairwoman Cde Miriam Chikukwa, political commissar Cde Susan Chuma and deputy secretary for administration Cde Constance Dhembeko for fanning factionalism and undermining the authority of the province.

A total of 30 out of 40 youth executive members signed the vote of no confidence petition, while 29 out of 38 Women’s League members signed for the ouster of its members at the party’s provincial headquarters and called for Vice President Joice Mujuru’s resignation.

The Women’s League executive committee members replaced Cde Chikukwa with the secretary for finance Cde Omega Hungwe, while Cde Chuma was replaced by secretary for education Cde Baya Munyawiri to both act on an interim capacity.

Cde Chikukwa had been appointed last Friday to act as the interim Women’s League provincial chairwoman after Cde Angline Matambanadzo received a vote of no confidence.

She wrote a letter to acting provincial chairman Cde Christopher Chigumba turning down the offer, saying she was occupied with her Government duties as Minister of State for Harare Provincial Affairs.

Those booted out in the provincial Youth League executive were secretary for legal affairs secretary Cde Andrew Tiriboi, finance secretary Cde Olivia Mususa, commissariat secretary Cde Tendai Diwa, secretary for security Cde Clyde Mutero, deputy secretary for information and publicity Cde Brian Hwenjere and deputy secretary for business and liaison Cde Munyaradzi Mugomeza. Their replacements would be named in due course.

Announcing the vote of no confidence, Youth League provincial secretary for administration Cde Tawanda Kadengu said executive members had also reversed the vote of no confidence passed unconstitutionally in its chairman Cde Godwin Gomwe.

He said all the six members booted out were aligned to VP Mujuru’s faction which was working to depose President Mugabe.
“The remaining executive members doubted their (the six) sincerity in terms of driving the party programmes while they were also working against the party by fanning factionalism,” said Cde Kadengu.

Provincial Women’s League secretary for legal affairs Cde Ratidzo Mukarati said it was time for Cde Chikukwa and Cde Chuma to be kicked out because of their allegiance to ousted provincial chair Cde Amos Midzi and Cde Matambanadzo.

“They are continuously confiding, pressing for the ousted provincial chairman Cde Amos Midzi and Cde Angeline Matambanadzo’s agendas,” she said.
“They have led an agenda that has the deliberate effect of causing factionalism within the party.”
