Only Zanu PF constituencies to benefit from govt projects: VPs

CO-VICE-PRESIDENTS Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko yesterday told Tsholotsho North villagers that constituencies that would benefit from government-funded projects were those under Zanu PF legislators only.

Addressing a joint rally where they were drumming up support for the ruling party candidate and Information minister Jonathan Moyo at Mbiriya Primary School in Tsholotsho North, President Robert Mugabe’s deputies declared that Tsholotsho villagers would only be considered part of the “Zimbabwean family” if they voted for the Zanu PF legislator.

The Zanu PF politicians said the area had remained underdeveloped for 35 years after independence because the electorate shortchanged themselves by voting political parties outside government structures.

“For 20 years, we have had no Zanu PF representation in Tsholotsho North, but let’s not forget that Zimbabwe is a unitary State. It’s one nation, we are one, we are all Zimbabweans. We are one family and that one family has been ruled by Zanu PF since 1980. Why then do great children of this Tsholotsho North constituency not vote for a party that is ruling this country?” Mnangagwa queried.

“Why were you voting for those that are ruled (in apparent reference to MDC-T) and will never rule this country? Your complaints and problems will never be addressed by those that are ruled, but by the rulers.”

He added: “Your complaints go to those in power and not those outside power. If you have a representative in politburo and the Cabinet, you are certain your grievances will be tabled to the rulers. Don’t waste votes voting for those governed by the rulers.”

Mphoko weighed in saying: “What Mnangagwa told you is very true because Cabinet only has Zanu PF members. There is no MDC in Cabinet and voting Zanu PF will greatly assist you as Moyo can easily talk to other ministers and ask for clinics for example and other development projects. Otherwise you will just bark from outside and no one will hear your cries and complaints while those inside will continue enjoying.”

such bullying of the electorate is utterly disgraceful.
moreover people are voting for other parties because zanu pf have totally ignored their needs for 35 years.

Hear, hear, hear. The two musketeers masquerading as VPs. How unfortunate that both VPs are not of the quality expected of national leaders.

After all who has ever benefitted from Zanu PF rule apart from the Zanu chefs who are so detached from reality it’s not fun. All they know is destruction.
