Survey: Bob would beat Tsvangirai in polls

via Survey: Bob would beat Tsvangirai in polls – New Zimbabwe 24/06/2015

PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe would beat Morgan Tsvangirai by 44% of votes cast to 21% if polls were to be held “tomorrow”, research conducted by Mass Public Opinion Institute (MPOI) has established.

The research, which was commissioned by Afrobarometer in November last year, was disseminated to members of civil society, politicians and journalists in Bulawayo early this month.

The organisation interviewed 2,400 adult citizens from all the country’s 10 provinces.

By location, 29% of the urban interviewees said they would vote for Zanu PF against 26% for the MDC-T, while in the rural areas Zanu PF scored 54% with MDC-T likely to get 17%.

On gender 44% males and 45% females indicated that they would vote for Mugabe while Tsvangirai got 22% males and 19% females wishing to elect him.

The research also gauged people’s opinions on their trust for opposition political parties as an alternative to deal with the prevailing political and economic crisis and discovered that they were comfortable with the current status quo with 37% thinking otherwise.

“Zimbabweans think that once an election is over, opposition parties and politicians should accept defeat and cooperate with government to help it develop the country,” MPOI said.

A few months ago, there was a heated debate after MPOI presented results of one of its research surveys saying President Robert Mugabe was more popular than any other politician.

Zanu PF supporters went to town with opposition and activists saying the results were not accurate.

Well it’s academic isn’t it? Even if MDC won (as they did in 2008 as everyone knows, and admitted by Mutasa) the election result would be hijacked by the thugs and murderers aka Zanu.

“Bob is my shepherd. I will always live in want.
He maketh me to lie down on park benches.
He leadeth me past still factories.
He disturbeth my soul every day.
Yea, though I walk through the shadow of Depression, I anticipate no recovery, for he is with me.
Surely unemployment and poverty shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in a shack forever.”

Surely Bob would win because he never fails to deliver hunger, homelessness, exile, potholes, corruption, fear, joblessness, abductions, load shedding and -2 million jobs. Only if Bob knew he would win all the same he wouldn’t unleash his rigging team, terror squads and stuffed boxes.

Why when he is so popular.

I cannot believe that Zimbabweans are that dumb
But if this survey is true, then they deserve what is happening to them.
