ZANU PF MP for Chipinge South, Enoch Porusingazi, on Wednesday said he was heartbroken and still in shock following his suspension from the ruling party last week.

Porusingazi, who is also a central committee member, was hit with a five-year suspension for allegedly stoking divisions in the ruling party and backing Vice-President Joice Mujuru in her attempts to oust President Robert Mugabe.

Porusingazi however, told NewZimbabwe.com in an interview that he is still not aware of his charges as he was never summoned to appear before any disciplinary committee.

“I am surprised, shocked and heartbroken because I still do not have the charges against me, I do not know the offence I committed,” he said.

“However I respect my party and the politburo and will never argue with it.”

Porusingazi denied belonging to any faction in Zanu PF insisting he belonged to President Mugabe’s camp.

“The president himself, his entire cabinet and everyone in the politburo and all structures of the Zanu PF, which means that Amai Mujuru is also in that group, I respect her office,” he said.

The Chipinge South legislator was recently accused of working with the United States’ spy agency, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to destabilise Zanu PF and the government.

He was accused of receiving grants from the US to procure a grinding mill and fruit and vegetable dryers for people living HIV and Aids in his constituency.

Porusingazi denied all the charges levelled against him.
