Zanu-PF is here to stay: SK

Zanu-PF yesterday described as the “summit of bankruptcy” assertions by MDC-T spokesperson Mr Obert Gutu that the revolutionary party should quit and make way for an administrative Government before thousands of Zimbabweans starve.

The Daily News quoted Mr Gutu as saying Zanu-PF was driving the country into a socio-economic and political hell- hole.

In response, Zanu-PF spokesperson Cde Simon Khaya Moyo said no amount of mischief would divert the revolutionary party’s focus of economic emancipation through the Government economic blueprint, Zim-Asset.

He said the resounding mandate President Mugabe got in the 2013 harmonised elections had left the MDC-T staggering in political confusion.

In the July 31, 2013 harmonised elections President Mugabe routed MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai with 61,09 percent of the vote against 33,94 percent.

“Today’s (yesterday) article in the Daily News in which MDC tells Zanu-PF to quit now could only have been written by someone who had downed a few scuds (opaque beer) or had smoked something unusual,” Cde Khaya Moyo said.

“Zanu-PF continues to consolidate its power base through massive restructuring throughout the country. Of great importance is the acceleration of Zim-Asset through various line ministries and other agencies.

“We never even have much time to talk about the MDC, a party long forgotten by the people of Zimbabwe. It is even more difficult to guess which MDC to talk about as they multiply every month.”

Added Cde Khaya Moyo: “Let whichever MDC present their strategy on development and not meaningless insults on the Zanu-PF leadership. To even suggest the climate change is influenced by President Mugabe is the summit of bankruptcy.”

He said the “tired stories and headlines” about President Mugabe and the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe, were “nauseating”.

The Daily News has been under fire in recent weeks from Government, media and political analysts for its practice of passing opinion as news.

The paper has of late been leading with opinion pieces with analysts saying the habit left readers wondering whether the paper was now The Daily Quiz or the Daily News.

Meanwhile, ZANU-PF Midlands province has suspended 11 Kwekwe district members from the party for up to five years for allegedly setting up parallel structures in the province, reports Midlands Bureau Chief Patrick Chitumba.

Acting provincial chairperson Cde Kizito Chivamba confirmed the suspensions of one provincial leader and 10 district chairpersons.

The suspensions were made even though Zanu-PF National Commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere had previously announced that no party members were to be suspended.

Those who were suspended are Cdes Honest Deura, the provincial secretary for indigenisation; Maclean Nyamucherera, Dr Muzenda district chairperson; Shepard Mazambani, deputy secretary for lands, Dambudzo District; Jabulani Magudze, secretary for transport and welfare, Jongwe B District; Lybson Jaure, Chitepo A District youth chairperson; Pambano Phiri, youth chairperson Rusununguko District; Dennis Chikomba, Gutsaruzhinji youth wing chairperson; Munyaradzi Muranda, youth chairperson Gukurahundi B District; Bridget Chivi, secretary Takawira District; Prosper Mafuruse, secretary for commissariat, Mama Mafuyana District; and Stanley Zibako, secretary for information and publicity, Shingai District youth wing.

SK, I think you are in for a big surprise sooner than you think. A black pastor once told me…”It is written that things come to pass, and not to stay”. Take heed SK, you and zanupf are NOT here to stay.
