PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe is an irreplaceable leader who would rather continue with his leadership from his Heroes Acre grave in the event of death, says First Lady, Grace Mugabe.

Grace was addressing crowds that had gathered for the Million Men March held in Harare Wednesday. Her address followed brief speeches by VPs Emmerson Mnangagwa, Phelekezela Mphoko and a prayer by Bishop Manhanga who asked for God’ Spirit on Mugabe.

In her remarks, Grace said as the Zanu PF’s Women’s League they were fully supportive of President Mugabe’s leadership.

“Your wonderful deeds will ensure that you remain a notable person for ever,” said Grace in praise of her husband.

Ahead of her speech and soon after Manhanga’s prayer, youth leaders chanted slogans in support of the First Lady “Pasi nevanotuka Dr Grace” (Down with those who abuse Dr Grace”. Only the Midlands youth chair did not chant the Grace slogan.

Mphoko also praised the First Lady, saying “pamberi naGrace” but Mnangagwa avoided mentioning her in his slogan chant, preferring to sing Zanu PF and Africa’s praises instead.

But before Mugabe took to the podium Grace and the two VPs were seen dancing to Oliver Mtukudzi’s ‘Tsika Dzedu.’ Mtukudzi, who performed for a few minutes, was a surprise feature at the event.

Last year, Grace said she was fully behind her husband’s leadership and was even prepared to buy a special wheel chair for him to continue as the leader.
