VICTORIA FALLS – Securico Security Services (Securico) founder Divine
Ndhlukula has been elected the new Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce
(ZNCC) president.
The feisty businesswoman, who took over from Davison Norupiri, will be
deputised by hotelier Tamuka Macheka.
Ndhlukula and her deputy shall hold office for two years, eligible for
re-election.
The Securico boss said she was going to dedicate her time at the
organisation’s helm to further the cause of Small-to-Medium Enterprises
(SMEs).
“It will also be important to note that during this time, we will focus on
helping SMEs realise their potential as they now anchor the country’s
economy.
“In the same vein, we will also strive to ensure that the country’s
economy can realise its full potential,” the incoming ZNCC president told
the organisation’s annual general meeting here.
Ndhlukula founded Securico from humble beginnings in Zimbabwe in 1998
after she identified a need in the market for a quality-oriented security
company.
Through passion and hard work, she has driven Securico to become the
market leader in Zimbabwe.
She has tackled a previously male-dominated industry head on and her
business success story is nothing short of remarkable – marking her one of
Africa’s most tenacious and inspiring women entrepreneurs.
Securico provides its clients with a complete security solution –
uniformed armed officers, armoured vehicles for transportation of
valuables, on-site banking, trained guard dogs, and electronic security
systems.
The company also does private investigations, employee vetting, and
security consulting.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Open University’s Kenneth Saruchera was appointed the
Manicaland chapter’s new vice president, while Ozias Marange was made
Matabeleland deputy president.
For the Mashonaland chapter, seasoned businessman Mike Juru took over as
deputy president with Tinovonga Mashavakure taking over as the Midlands
deputy president.
Matabeleland chairperson Golden Muoni, however, expressed his chapter’s
displeasure over the rotation of the presidential seat.
“We are not happy as a region because of the way the presidential seat is
rotating.
“We now have to play subordinate to Harare and Mutare as it seems the seat
rotates between those two regions.
“We feel this must be corrected so that the seat rotates and all chapters
can get a chance to have a president too,” Muoni said.
