THE NetOne Group is spearheading initiatives to equip youths with digital tools and skills, positioning them as architects of the nation’s technological transformation, company chief executive officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani announced yesterday.

Speaking at the Intergenerational Dialogue Summit organised by Vision 2030 Movement, Eng Mushanawani said the telecommunications provider was building digital infrastructure to serve as a foundation for national progress.

“The youth of today are the leaders of our digital tomorrow, and our role is to equip them with the tools, the skills and the platforms that ensure they thrive in a connected world,” he said.

Eng Mushanawani outlined NetOne’s comprehensive strategy across key sectors. In education, the company is partnering with tertiary institutions and innovation hubs to develop digital skills, nurturing future innovators and software developers.

In agriculture, mobile technology provides young farmers with access to weather forecasts and land-use information, transforming traditional farming into smart agriculture.

The mining sector is also undergoing digital transformation through surveying tools and claim management systems that enable youth participation.

Eng Mushanawani highlighted the company’s broader social mission, noting their involvement in national campaigns against substance abuse.

“The same technology that distracts can also rehabilitate and educate,” he said.

The CEO framed NetOne’s approach as collaborative rather than competitive, focusing on partnerships with both local and international ICT players to advance national development goals.
