THE construction sector in Zimbabwe is witnessing a remarkable transformation, largely attributable to the Second Republic’s commitment to fostering economic growth.
Since President Mnangagwa took office in 2017, his administration has focused on stimulating the economy through a range of initiatives, including the “Zimbabwe is Open for Business” strategy.
This has encouraged local contractors to participate in various capital-intensive projects, resulting in a surge of activity across the nation.
Zimbabwe Builders Contractors Association 2024 Contractor of the Year title winner Manah Buildings Construction’s director Mr Arthar Mafuya expressed pride in the company’s achievements and the pivotal role it has played in enhancing Zimbabwe’s infrastructure.
“Our focus has been on constructing shopping malls and head offices, which not only meet the growing demands of urbanisation but also create jobs and stimulate economic activity,” said Mr Mafuya.
Manah’s successful completion of several high-profile projects has not only elevated the company’s status but has also contributed to a positive business environment.
Mr Mafuya stressed the importance of Government contracts, saying, “The trust placed in us by the Government has been instrumental.
“It empowers local companies like ours to deliver high-quality work that rivals international standards.”
The growth of Manah Buildings Construction is reflected in its expanding workforce.
Mr Mafuya reported that the company has significantly increased its employee count, fostering local talent and providing essential training opportunities.
“Investing in our people is crucial. We have created numerous job opportunities, and we are proud that our efforts contribute to reducing unemployment,” he said.
The surrounding community benefits as well. Mr Mafuya explained that the economic ripple effects of their projects extend beyond immediate job creation.
“When we build a shopping mall or a head office, we’re not just constructing a building, we’re enhancing local commerce and providing a space for businesses to thrive,” he said.
Mr Mafuya said Manah Buildings Construction is dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality in all its projects.
“Our commitment to excellence ensures that we not only meet but exceed expectations. This is how we build lasting relationships with our clients and stakeholders.”
As the construction industry continues to evolve under the Second Republic, companies like Manah Buildings Construction are not only contributing to infrastructural development but also paving the way for a more resilient and vibrant economy.
