EMPLOYMENT creation is not the sole responsibility of the Government, and young people should turn every opportunity into job creation, Vice President Dr Kembo Mohadi has said.

Giving his remarks at Boys Dzamudhara’s fourth anniversary celebrations in Harare today, Dr Mohadi said the youth must not underestimate themselves as they have the numbers and energy.

Boys Dzamudhara is a youth empowerment lobby group affiliated to Zanu PF.

VP Mohadi encouraged young people not to be apologetic about their ambitions, adding that opportunities without hard work tend to get wasted.

“The time has come to think bigger.

“Instead of asking what the Government can do for young people, we must increasingly ask what we, as young people, can do with the opportunities Government is creating for us.

“The Second Republic is opening opportunities in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, tourism, technology, infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, and the broader creative economy.

“The question is, are you, young people, prepared to take them up?

“The youth must not just hear about empowerment; they should experience it so that ideas become businesses, skills become incomes, and small projects grow into big enterprises that employ others.

“That is how grassroots transformation happens,” he said.

Zanu PF National Political Commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha urged youth movements to be accountable and keep records of their projects.

“The Second Republic has opened doors through empowerment funds and projects.

“Every fund and project received must be accounted for transparently.

“Your credibility is not measured by the number of empowerment programmes you receive, but the magnitude of your accountability.

“One project well managed and accounted for is worth much more. Keep records, report progress, and let your projects create jobs in your communities.”

Cde Machacha urged young people to participate in Government programmes such as rural industrialisation and community development projects.

“Every contribution moves us closer to an upper-middle-income society by 2030.

“Boys Dzamudhara must open its doors to young people and women. The youth are the future of the party. Mentor them and give them responsibility, he said.

Boys Dzamudhara vice chairman Cde Evidence Chifamba said the affiliate was formed in 2022 by a group of young Zimbabweans who believe the future of the nation belongs to those who participate in its development.

He said they have been grabbing opportunities created by the Government and complementing them.

“From humble beginnings, Boys Dzamudhara has grown into a national movement, represented across the country and in diaspora chapters across the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States of America, Russia, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East.

“We saw Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2. We saw Education 5.0 producing not just graduates, but innovators, problem solvers, and job creators; and we decided to do our part in complementing these efforts.

“We cannot wait for tomorrow to make a difference,” said Cde Chifamba.
