HARARE – Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) is set to conduct a rummage
sale auction of forfeited and uncleared motor vehicles and goods at Forbes
Border Post, Mt Selinda and Mutare Customs House next Wednesday.
This comes a few months after the authority’s Commissioner-General, Faith
Mazani, instructed auctioneers to hold rummage sales for uncleared goods
currently stationed at Zimra’s container depots at entry points around the
country between this year and 2020.
The auction, which is to be held on September 26 at 1000hours, will be
coordinated by Empire Auctions at the stated locations.
Vehicles and goods auctioned are to be viewed a day earlier on September
25, and they include cars, electricals, clothing, hardware, footwear and
other assorted groceries which had been kept at Zimra’s warehouse for
between 90 days and six months.
Zimra advised that interested candidates should make a refundable $2 000
deposit for vehicles and $500 for goods to obtain a buyer’s card, and
entry is strictly to catalogue holders at $20 per head.
